International Artist Residency Program
New Zero Art Space invites foreign artists to stay in Myanmar(Burma) for making their artworks, meeting other
artists and giving artist talks. We decide to accept foreign
artists so that those from international countries have a
chance to apply this program.

New Zero Art Space, Yangon,
Myanmar invites visual (and performance)
artists from Asia, Europe and North America to the first
Artist-in-Residency Program
in Myanmar. Myanmar is a unique and old culture in the heart
of South East Asia,
famous for its stunning gold pagodas, its kind and gentle
people and
its strong Buddhist history.
The program
is an exceptional opportunity
to support artists from
around the world
who have a keen interest in Myanmar art and culture. The
philosophy of
the program
also encourages an ongoing exchange with the art and culture
from the
artist’s host country.
The residency is one month in
the heart of Yangon. New Zero Art Space
will provide one round trip
air ticket, accommodation and living expenses during the
residency.
The residency will also include a studio
and exhibition space. The artist will be requested to
exhibit their
work at the end of the residency
with promotional materials in the form of a brochure will be
included
so that their work can be
shared with a larger audience to share in the exchange of
artistic
and cultural ideas.
Applications are currently
being accepted for the residency commencing
in1st September 2009. Deadline is 30 December, 2009
Applications must include a CV,
a portfolio (a minimum of three works
submitted as jpegs) and a project
description for the residency. The New Zero Art Space
Advisory
Committee consisting of artists from
Myanmar and our international advisors will select an artist
based on
the project and the quality of the work submitted.
